Here at the darkest season of the year, just days after Winter Solstice, I once again rely on this beautiful verse to inspire me in my work.

My recent work in the deeper levels of DNA has led me this week into some of the darkest places within our souls and our history.  It’s easier for me to find the bliss in winter’s darkness and the stark beauty of nature at this season, than to find it when confronted with human hatefulness, but it is a job worth doing.  And so, while not yet blissful, I am grateful to be able to bring spirit’s light into those dark places.

I am grateful to be aware that everything that is not unconditional love is the illusion of separation forcing us to individuate.  I am grateful to know that the old world is contractually complete and though there is still a lot of hatefulness present in the world, its time is coming to an end.  By bringing the light of unity and unconditional love into the dark places within human souls, the illusions of separation are being dissolved as the new world is being born.  It is the perfect season for doing this work of letting light grow within the darkness.

We are in process of healing and unifying ourselves and it is a complex task we are facing.  To choose love over hate, kindness over cruelty, compassion over judgment, trust over fear, unity with spirit even within our human messiness.  We are learning to co-create with our Higher Selves instead of pushing through by force of mind and will.  Each time we strengthen our true selves by choosing in these ways, we enter the new world experience more fully.  We bring the light into proximity with the darkness and initiate ascension on a deeper level.

Choosing to bring spirit’s light may take place even after we have found ourselves acting or reacting from our old world separate and instinctual habits.  We don’t have to be perfectly enlightened to take advantage of the opportunities to choose the new world!  What better time to choose love and compassion for ourselves and others who may have pushed our buttons than after we find ourselves feeling or acting old world?  It is a messy work, and a richly important one!

During the holiday season many of us return to our families of origin, or if we choose not to, we are confronted once again with the reasons why we don’t.  Either way, we are faced with our own deepest growth opportunities which are those we chose to be born into in this lifetime.  In our original families we face the combination of love with all the symptoms of insufficient love.  All the desires for connection and the challenges and pain that brings to us.  One word to help you with that process is COMPASSION.  Compassion for yourself, for others and for this messy human path.

No one is to blame, though we have all hurt others and been hurt by them.  Compassion helps us see beyond hurt, shame, guilt, or fear to find the way to be kind to ourselves and others.  To forgive without giving our power away.  To be strong without doing harm.

As you prepare for family time you could meditate on compassion.  I had to do this when I was first given this term by a healing colleague to use for my own family healing work.  I needed it to help me come to terms with the choices and behaviors of others.  When she told me to find compassion it rang true within the darkness I was struggling with like Word of God resounds within the verse beginning this post.  I didn’t understand it at first, so I had to meditate, going direct to the One to ask for help with it.

Rather than figure out what compassion was by definition (Websters definition pretty much misses the point for me) I asked to receive a spirit of compassion from the One and to understand it for myself and for others.  What came to me was a spiritual energy that lifted me out of judgment, fear and blame and brought me into a feeling of unconditional love and trust.  I felt how essence of truth of God knows the reason why people are still stuck where they are.  I sensed the purpose behind that stuck state, though I didn’t understand really what it was, just that it was necessary and important.  I perceived how hard it is for all of us to be stuck in our old-world roles, and how we all will shift to a new place in the optimal time and way.

The gift of compassion has healed me in so many ways.  Because of it I am a much better person, and I don’t require others to be what they are not ready to be yet.  Compassion allows me to bring my light into the challenges within myself and my relationships in the gentlest of ways.  It doesn’t impose, but creates a feeling of confidence, comfort, kindness, and peace within me.  This allows those around me to respond to me in ways which are likewise more comfortable for me.  My light isn’t a judgment or a goad, it carries acceptance and unconditional love for both of us.  I still have to work through my old world stuff, but compassion for myself helps me do that more gently and effectively too.

Working in a spirit of compassion for all humanity across all time, this season I am helping to restore a compassionate unity between Higher Self and lower self within individuals and soul groups.  As it grows this will allow our lower nature to rise out of the darkness of separation and ascend to become a good part of the wholeness of our unified selves.  Because we on Earth are now contracted to be whole, when unconditional love is held in proximity to hatefulness it begins to dissolve.  I am fortunate to be able to work across time and space to heal and clear old baggage and traumas.  Doing that bypasses the mental habits and defensiveness you encounter when you work directly in the present time and circumstances. I can go right to the level where all beings desire unity and wholeness. (My clients, students and grads are learning to do this also.)  Going back to the time and place where the old world systems were created I am able to identify blocks that have held separation in place for the old world and help clear them when they are ready for that. Some of those old blocks will ascend and some will simply be cleared and energetically recycled.

This is work I have been doing for years, but now it is being done across the board on every layer of creation.  The old world reminds me of decoupage which was an art form popular in the 1970s.  Layer upon layer of an image was built up with varnish, giving a sense of multiple dimensions, making the picture look whole and real.  The old world is like that.  It isn’t whole and real; it is simply illusion built on many layers.  At this point so many layers have been cleared and freed from their old-world jobs that the old world is becoming weak.  What keeps it in place is the force of lifetimes of human belief, habit and drive.  Because of that much of my work involves clearing old traumas, fears, judgments and suffering from the past.  With 36 years of experience doing this for individuals, it isn’t hard to do it now for all souls as I am guided to do that.  Healing and bringing unconditional love, compassion, forgiveness and light to the past, we weave changes forward through time into the present and the future in such a way that people begin to respond to their Higher Selves more easily and can release the old habits and beliefs.  Such profound change brings up a lot to clear in the present, so we continue to assist with that as we are able; to clear the heavy clouds of darkness and make it easier for people to enter their unity and wholeness.

The only way I can do this work is because I have received the spirit of compassion from the Oneness of Life.  If I went into the dark places of life acting from judgment and fear, I wouldn’t be much help clearing them, but would rather make the darkness stronger by acting from my own state of separateness.  Fortunately, when I am guided to work on something, I am held in the safety of unconditional love and can observe how that dissolves old world defenses.  At their core everyone and everything longs to come home to unity with true self and the One.  Playing those old nasty roles has been painful and hard for everyone.  Compassion is a key that unlocks the doors blocking hearts, minds and souls.  This allows them to be freed to ascend when their old world work is finished.

Perhaps most importantly, honor the growing unity within your own being.  The new world is like a precious child growing within each of us.  Hold that sacred light within and let it gently transform the darkness of your old world experience.  We are each pregnant with a growing presence of unconditional love, wholeness, forgiveness, compassion and freedom!  That presence is our true selves, and we are birthing it now.
