According to Rudolph Steiner, the great Austrian philosopher that founded the Waldorf School movement, among many other things, the energy of summer calls us to an expanded opportunity for spiritual growth.  I happen to agree with him.

During the summer the energy flowing in from the cosmos combines with the expansive energies of life on the planet to open us spiritually.  It is almost as though gravity cannot hold us and we are drawn into an expanded, spiritualized state.  This is a wonderful time to be open to spirit.  Meditating to become aware of this spiritual call will make you feel drawn into the light and wholeness of life and spirit.  You will find it easier to connect with your guides and the Cosmic Christ energies which are seeking to awaken us to our own inner truth as we ascend.

Alternately, you may need to expand your root chakra and draw on the presence of God below you in order to stabilize your focus in ordinary reality!  It is easy to get spaced out and be ungrounded during this time of the year!  We no longer recommend grounding into the planet, as she is shifting so much, but instead ground into God below you, as deep and wide as you need to balance your spiritual energies.  You can also ground into God above instead of the sun during this transition.

Remember to meditate when you are in a safe and quiet place and to call yourself back to focus in your body and in the present moment before you go about the rest of your day.  This helps prevent accidents during this time of increased expansion.  You may not realize how far you have traveled until you notice you are not all here! 🙂
