The Wholeness Muscle – Walking Meditation

On my morning walk I was guided to do this walking meditation.  It made me feel so good, I want to share it with you!  You can do it without walking too if you prefer.

Unifying our spirit and body is the big task of ascension.  Hanging out in our higher spiritual vibrations makes us feel happy, gives us perspective, and keeps us calm.  However, many spiritual people have learned that they can’t only do that.  Ignoring our earthier aspects and rising above them feels good in the moment but leaves us vulnerable to other people’s energies and diminishes our ability to manifest what we want in our lives; it can also leave us tired. In essence if we are hanging out primarily in our spirit selves, we are somewhat unplugged or dissociated from our own earthy humanness.  Those who have been working this path have learned to ground more fully and this makes us feel stronger, safer, less affected by the chaos around us.  It feels good, but it also brings us into parts of ourselves where the vibrations are lower and where we may have been stuffing issues we didn’t want to deal with – which is why we might be inclined to rise above them into our spirit focus.

Some people are very grounded, but not as easily connected with Higher Self.  This can make them feel depressed, hopeless, angry or insecure among other things.  Ascension helps us to bring spirit into our bodies and help them to rise in vibration and into unity with our higher energies.  This unity brings wholeness and lifts us into the new world.  That’s what this walking meditation is for.

My job requires me to be both in the new world and in the old.  I am constantly going back and forth to help the world ascend.  It’s kind of hard on me to hold both ends of things.  When in the new world, I just want to be there!  In the old world, I feel the hardship of it within myself.  I need super strong wholeness muscles to handle this, and they need to keep getting stronger as I am guided to work across vaster fields of human experience.  So, this meditation is not only something I recommend for you, but also something essential for me.  And as I said, it makes me feel good!

I like to do this while walking because it is such a perfect activity to help me step into wholeness with a relaxed mind and a body awake and active.

I will teach this as though you are walking while you do it, however, that’s not required. You can do it any time you need it, even just sitting or lying down. For now, imagine yourself walking as you read this.  Imagination will work if you really let yourself feel it in your body and don’t just use your head!

1 – Notice how you feel in your body.  Breathe and relax.  Try to let your movements become balanced and fluid as they can be.

2 – Notice your consciousness.  Are you feeling, focused, blah, happy, unhappy, super spiritual? Is your heart open?  These are clues as to how your energy is focused at this time, whether in your body or more in spirit.

3 – Notice where the predominance of energy is within you – is it in your body, in your head, out of body?

4 – Breathe, relax and center.  Open your heart back and front.  Feel your spine and let it be the center of you back and front, left and right – this may require stepping back into yourself and or down into your body if you are up, in front of your body or out of body.  Notice how this changes your walking gait.  Relax into it.

5 – Open your heart up to the bottom of your aura, an arm’s length below your feet and welcome the flow of life energy that comes up into your body when you do that.  Give yourself an inner hug.  Being this grounded may feel heavy or uncomfortable initially.  If so, don’t worry, you are going to improve that with the next step!

6 – Open your heart up to the top of your aura, an arm’s length above your head.   This opens your connection with Higher Self.  It can be easy to find when you are only in the upper chakras, but when you are grounded, it can feel restricted up there.  If needed, release your ground to find that upper openness just for now.  You may need to work to open to your Higher Self and the Higher Power or Oneness of life.  It is an act of trust to do so.  But once you are there it usually feels like a happy place.  If you have been blocked there, don’t be surprised if you experience tears or an emotional release when it opens.  Just be with it and let it move and clear.  Then peace can come in.

7 – Now keeping an open heart, work to bring your connection with the top of your aura and the bottom of your aura together within your whole body.  Let the higher energies mingle with the lower and you will feel them lighten up.  Work to be able to feel both extremes awake and alive within you and let it fill the middle and your whole self. Then you can really enjoy the very alive feeling of being present fully in unity and wholeness!  It can be hard to hold for more than a moment at first.  Work repeatedly over time to get used to holding this unity longer and longer – this is building your wholeness muscle!

8 – Walking helps you to bring the energy together because of the movement of your body and beauty of nature helping you to relax, ground and open your heart.  What I notice is that when I get deeply into my body, I initially feel heavy, and emotionally dense.  When I get my higher energies connected, I feel bright and cheerful, and the world feels more welcoming and safer.  I want that feeling to be in my body. So, I go back to my earthier energies and welcome the higher energies to mingle through my whole body and aura and let them brighten up the lower vibrations.  This brings me into a place where I feel extremely happy, strong.  I am grounded but feel good.  My visuals have more color, depth and contrast which makes things look beautiful and alive.  I feel more at home in the world.   It is almost like falling in love.  There is a positive sense of connection with everything.

  • This meditation is another way to get to where we try to be when we do the tree exercise. If this walking meditation doesn’t work for you, you can go to Eve’s 3 Most Important Things Videos and use that approach (see Resources below this post).  Everyone is different in what works for them.  And different things can be helpful at different times.
  • Adding in the new world nursery as I teach in the videos to the walking meditation can help you lift more fully into the new world experience of unity and wholeness. When I do this, I feel the whole world I am walking within as awake and benevolent.  It’s amazing! Then you can also use the transitional/old-world nursery from the videos.  It helps you to step out of the negative old-world baggage and let things heal and ascend more easily.

Finding wholeness within by unifying spirit and earth is a new world muscle.  As we build that muscle we ascend.  Doing this also helps to build that muscle for everyone else.  It becomes common, just like computers are now common but once were mysterious to those of us over 60!  Younger generations find them super easy and natural.  How much more natural to be whole and to enter the new world!  I’m so excited to share this with you, because the more of us who build this muscle, the easier and quicker it will be for everyone to ascend.  This means less trauma as the old-world dissolves because when we are in the new world experience, that is not a concern.  It’s like stepping out of an uncomfortable dream into the light of a beautiful day.
