“You are ascending.  You are evolving in ways that have been preordained since the beginning of time.  Beneath the challenging and often negative aspects of life, there is something marvelous and purposeful going on.  The evolution of life we are experiencing now is as significant for life on Earth as when the first land creatures emerged from the primordial swamp.  Beneath the apparently negative evolutionary indicators of our present age – which include global warming, overpopulation, limited resources, and damage to the environment due to human technology – there is a true evolution of soul.  This deeper evolution has always been the underlying reason for life.”

This quote from the first page of Riding the Wave of Change – Hope, Healing & Spiritual Growth for Our World begins an initiation into embracing the positive aspect of evolution for planet and soul which is called ascension.  It helps you realize that what is happening in our world is timely and that despite appearances to the contrary, humanity is not to blame.  Not any more than a baby should be blamed when its Mother’s body is wracked with contractions that are as painful as anything a person experiences in life.  Nor is this apparently catastrophic transition in our world any more to be judged than the ejection of the baby from the warm but increasingly uncomfortable womb of their mother into an entirely new experience of life.  Both these events are as necessary and timely as they are transformational and empowering.  That does not mean that they are easy or comfortable, or even entirely safe.  On the other hand, all creation is eternal, safe and unbreakable in spirit, and in that reality, we can be confident we will all continue to evolve into a greater realization of our individual potential; and the world as a whole to fulfill the amazing potential for life.

Because this subject can be difficult to embrace with our human minds, I wrote Riding the Wave of Change the opposite of a textbook.  As Penny Golden – Publisher of Body Mind Spirit Guide said, it “reads like a song”.  I’m so glad she noticed, because that is how I intended it, having been a writer of spiritual and transformational songs before I became a healer, author and a teacher.  My idea was that like a song, it would be received through the heart and soul.  This approach allows the mind to receive it in a non-linear way that can be assimilated over time as a person is ready for it.  It stimulates memories of eternity as understood by our Higher Selves.  And instigates a dreaming awareness of the higher and deeper purpose of creation and our personal lives.  So, when you read it, don’t worry about absorbing it as a set of facts.  Receive it more as you would a song and let it resonate within you.  It will water seeds of your true self that are already present and bring clarity to your heart and mind in the ways and times that are right for you.

Our world is ascending; it is messy and often hard, but no one is to blame.  We have each contractually agreed to be here to both experience and to help with this transition.  There are many ways people help, here are some of them.  Some help by being a force of destruction for the old world when they react with fear, anger and judgment.  Others by being a focus for building the new through their vision and love.  Some are a bridge between the old and new helping everything to transition more easily.  We each have a role in this process.  We play those roles because we are exactly who and what we are designed to be in the present time and place.  Each role is essential, and often we play multiple roles within our lives or even a single day.

I am asking you to join me in learning to greet each day and moment of this journey of ascension with compassion for ourselves and for others, regardless of the various roles anyone may play and any difficulties we encounter or initiate.  I am also inviting you to read or re-read my book to help deepen your understanding and ability to participate in this journey with greater peace and effectiveness which helps us all find our way more easily.  If that suggestion feels timely and right for you check out the footnote below.*
