Below is a verse for the week of October 11-17 from Rudolf Steiner’s Calendar of the Soul, translated by Michael Brewer:

I can, enlivened new within,

Now feel the width of my own being,

And filled with strength, shed rays of thought

From sun-might of the soul

Upon life’s riddles, solving them;

And lend fulfillment to those wishes

Whose wings were lamed before by hope.

In this verse, as I understand it, he is speaking about how we received into our soul, a seed of divine enlightenment during the summer, through the closeness of the sun and its radiance of cosmic love and enlightenment.  Then in the fall that seed begins to ripen within us, bringing forth gifts and strength that we previously did not own.  So as the season darkens we become more enlightened within!

Each week has a verse in the calendar of the soul, and it goes on in this vein through winter solstice, with the gestation and then birth of our inner light.

Ascension is the journey of integrating and birthing our own facet of the Essence of Truth of God.  We receive a seed of our truth, it gestates within us and births something new into the world.  Through this process we are reborn, bit by bit, but with an exponential curve,  each shift stimulating a greater shift in our future.

Because the ascension process is an exponential curve, it can be hard for us to see from where we currently are, how we can arrive at a destination of unity and enlightenment for the whole planet within any reasonable time frame.  From where we are it may look hopeless.  But with the next shift, or the next, we come around that curve and begin to see how it is really happening, the world is being reborn!

From the perspective I have through my work with individuals and the planet, that is how I experience it.  One day I am looking at a concern, and it seems impossible that this can be ready to change because it seems so dark and stuck.  But then I am in meditation and am shown the very thing which seemed impossible, and then given an opportunity to initiate a change.  From there I can see how that issue is beginning to be integrated into the love and wisdom of unconditional love and the Essence of Truth of God.  Over time I observe and help with other shifts in that aspect of life and I know when the time comes, the new world will be born even in what appears to be a dark and hopeless place in our world.

Each of us has our little piece of light to integrate, nourish and birth into the world.  It doesn’t have to be something outward, it could be something inside us, such as a new way of seeing and responding to the challenges we face every day.  When that happens within one person, it begins to happen everywhere else in the world as well.  We can each be every day heroes, by growing stronger in our truth day by day.

There are many verses of the Calendar of the Soul in my book Riding the Wave of Change – Hope, Healing and Spiritual Growth for Our World.  Rudolf Steiner was an early ascension worker, as long ago as the late 1800s and early 1900s.  He is one of my heroes!  I had hoped it would be available to purchase by the end of the year, but know that everything will come together at the perfect time, so am being patient and working through what needs yet to be done.  Thank you for your patience.  I am so excited to birth this gift into your world!
