There is a place of calm within life’s experiences which each of us can live from for greater satisfaction, wholeness and success. It’s not a hard place to find, but only deliberate choice makes it a home you can trust within yourself. So today, I’d like to help you find it. Where you go from there is up to you.
Our human ego rides through life’s highs and lows like it is on the outside of a wheel rolling across rocky ground. When things are looking up, we decide that everything is good and believe we will achieve ultimate happiness and success. Just when it tops the rise and we intend to continue going up, the ride begins to descend. Before we know it, we are being pressed between the wheel and the rocky ground and it sucks! Then we judge ourselves or blame others, but regardless, we hurt.
But think a minute – a wheel is not just the rim. It is a hub with spokes going out to the rim. At the hub of the wheel is a place of relative stillness. It is still going around, but there is no swing from high to low. The hub is connected to everything going on at the rim all the time. The highs, lows and middle are all happening simultaneously for the hub, but in a good way where it isn’t overwhelming and painful.
Now let’s take a step back and ask ourselves, who is it which rides the wheel of our life? What we know spiritually is that we have a body, but we are not our body. We have a mind, but we are not our mind. We have emotions, but we are not our emotions. We have careers and relationships, but these are not who we are. We are each eternal spiritual beings, unique within the Oneness of all life. The rest is temporary, and we are here to master the challenges that our lives present. We can’t master the rolling of the wheel if we are riding the rim. We have no control there, we are blessed and victimized equally as the wheel rolls. And the nature of our human experience is that it will continue to roll.
Some people get addicted to the highs and so they refuse to give up hope that this time it will go on forever! This inevitably gets too hard to do and leads to despair. Some people get stuck in the lows and focus only on the hardship and pain, so when something good comes along, they are still nursing their hurts and miss most of it. The rim of your life is just a crazy ride and I recommend finding your place at the center, so you can enjoy what’s happening but not get lost or damaged by it. This requires you to remember who you are. You are an eternal spirit. You are one with the One. Within you is all the wisdom and enlightenment you need to fulfill your purpose and find the gifts of this life which is uniquely your own. Everything in your life comes for a purpose and brings you essential experiences for your evolution, empowerment, and success in fulfilling that purpose.
Most of the tools I teach and have available on my website, through these posts, my books, classes, and healings are to help you to live from your center and to own your sovereign authority within your life. Achieving this is the foundation for ascension, as well as the way to heal and find satisfaction and success in all areas of life.
The tool I am going to teach today is one of many ways you can learn to center within your life. It will both protect you and help you to succeed. You may use it the way I teach it as a way of energetically practicing holding center. Or you may use it merely as an analogy to help you stay cetered. It will help either way!
Most of my regular readers already know this tool, so consider this a refresher! Sometimes the simplest thing is the most helpful. This may be helpful for other people that you know too. So, please feel free to share this post. I think this is a great message for the week of the Fall Equinox — Finding equalibrium within our lives!
Living From the Hub of Your Wheel Exercise:
1 – Imagine that your body and aura are a 360-degree wheel. The rim of your wheel is about an arm’s length from your body in every direction.
The hub of your wheel is 360-degree hub of about a hands-width. Imagine your hub within your waist area of your body. I have heard this spot called the “assemblage point”, because when centered here you can hold your center most effectively and be most in mastery of the many aspects of yourself. In this hub it is difficult to be stuck in one or the other aspect of your life, whether the highs or the lows, or a particular problem. From this place, you have better perspective on it all and can hold your own. This allows your true self, your higher intelligence and unconditionally loving eternal spiritual self, to awaken within you, bringing a more masterful approach to your life. You will learn to trust yourself, rely on your inner wisdom, and build a life you can love.
Between the hub and the wheel imagine spokes going in every direction. These spokes help you to hold center, back to front, top to bottom, side to side.
With the next steps I will guide you how to work with your wheel.
2 – Breathe into your whole body, from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. Gently squeeze your feet, legs, and glutes to awaken you within your physical body and get you out of your head.
- Let your breath carry your focus now into the middle of your chest and your heart chakra.
- Invite your heart chakra to open back and front.
- Breathe and relax until you feel centered and open in your heart.
3 – Deep within your heart is a strong focus of your Inner Wisdom, which is one with your Higher Self which is your eternal part of the Oneness of life.
- Let your breathing carry you deep into your heart chakra, as though you are stepping back into yourself.
- You will come to a still place just behind your spine. Center there.
- Welcome your Inner Wisdom and know this is you.
- Relax into that
4 – Keeping your open heart, bring your focus to your waist and imagine the hand-wide hub of your wheel there.
- Center within that hub until you can look out at life from that place.
- Imagine the spokes going out in all directions to the rim all around you.
- Center so that each spoke is approximately the same length to your rim.
- Sometimes the back of the body feels closer to the hub.
- This indicates that you are not centered in that part of your body yet.
- Move back until it feels balanced back to front.
- Likewise sometimes you may need to work to center in other directions from your hub, until you feel centered in all directions including top to bottom and side to side.
- Rest in this center, relax there, welcome your Inner Wisdom to fill your body and aura with the unconditional love which is your eternal true nature.
- Unconditional love is strong love. It is not easily overwhelmed. The strength of it is eternal and universal.
- Unconditional love is centered and responsible to self-first. Like in the airplane survival instructions – “Put the mask on first before helping any others.”
5 – As you go through your day, when life pulls you out of your peaceful center, tuck yourself back within your hub and re-center in all directions.
- Life will go around, learn to enjoy the highs, lows and middles all together from the safe hub. Everything you need is there at the core.
- Responding to life from the core you have access to your Inner Wisdom to help you respond in the optimal way for success in all aspects of life.
- You will still have to deal with hard things and to learn from your experiences. But you don’t have to be a victim of them or get beat up by them. You will grow stronger, more whole, more confident and successful each day.
