Leonard Cohen\u2019s song is reminding us that everything is as it should be:<\/p>\n

How the Light Gets In<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ring the bells that still can ring<\/p>\n

Forget your perfect offering<\/p>\n

There is a crack in everything<\/p>\n

That\u2019s how the light gets in<\/p>\n

This is the second time I have used this title and song, so I have named this post II to differentiate.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

Each step of ascension includes something breaking down in the old so that something can be birthed of the new world.\u00a0 Sometimes these old-world malfunctions are small enough we hardly notice, and the transition is smooth.\u00a0 And sometimes it seems like our world is falling apart.\u00a0 Either way, there is something beautiful, stronger, easier, better, and more whole that is ready to step in to fill the gap.<\/p>\n

I like the word \u2018crack\u2019 that Leonard uses, it is such a good description of how things appear with my spiritual vision when I look at the old world.\u00a0 I see the old as a dark-hard layer over the light of our true selves within.\u00a0 This reminds me a bit of the hard outer shell of a seed that softens in the moist ground until it cracks open because the light of the growing seed within.\u00a0 Our own change is like that.\u00a0 Our growing light within causes the old to crack so we can emerge into the new world.<\/p>\n

From a normal human point of view these \u2018cracks\u2019 seem to be problems\u2026situations in our bodies, souls or lives which simply won\u2019t resolve through our outer effort to get things right, to make them work, to bring our world into a saner place.\u00a0 The old world is malfunctioning for a greater good and will not be fixed that way. Wherever there is a lack or a malfunction, that is where the new world can be born.<\/p>\n

Rather than trying to hold the old together when you see a crack, invite the new world to birth what is better to enter and manifest there.\u00a0 You don\u2019t know yet what that will be, but you can trust it, just as you trust that little seed to germinate and grow into its true potential.\u00a0 Our bodies, souls and our world will grow into our true potential as well.<\/p>\n

Imagine a plant dropping its perfect seeds on the ground. \u00a0Then seeing its beautiful form begin to decay and the shell crack open it is upset at the loss of that earlier form.\u00a0 But then it begins to sprout into something unknown and it doesn’t recognize that is its own true form emerging. \u00a0But plants understand that their seeds are a temporary form that will have to change in order to bear the fruit of their potential. \u00a0They don\u2019t resist that change.<\/p>\n

Our lives and world are only seeds that are finally beginning to sprout into something better and more fruitful.\u00a0 Resisting that transformation is pointless.\u00a0 It is happening.\u00a0 We have to let the old husk crack open so the new can be born and reveal our true potential within.\u00a0 During ascension everything has to crack and grow and then crack again and grow some more.\u00a0 We have to learn to accept and flow with this process and not to resist it, though it may feel scary to us.<\/p>\n

The slow process of change is necessary because otherwise we would just lose everything we know.\u00a0 This way we can adjust to the partially new state before the next new level is ready to grow.\u00a0 If you think about the way the world has been changing you will see this.\u00a0 It is especially evident over the recent decade but looking back to the beginning of the 20th<\/sup> century you can see many stages of this, and it has been picking up speed since then.\u00a0 Each shift has been necessary to bring us to where we are now. Though the birthing of the new world may seem slow, the cracking of the old seems impossibly fast and comprehensive lately.\u00a0 Trust this, it\u2019s all happening for the greater good.<\/p>\n

Resisting change perpetuates the old-world problems.\u00a0 Let things crack and rather than focusing on the crack, welcome the light that can now enter our world.\u00a0 Prepare to be blessed by the new world which will grow stronger as a result.<\/p>\n

As Leonard Cohen said, it\u2019s hard to be perfect when there is a crack in everything, don\u2019t try.\u00a0 Find within you a calm center and respond as needed with love and compassion for yourself and all creation which is struggling to function as everything shifts.<\/p>\n
