If life is like a wheel, where is the hub? How can we find and hold our center as the wheel of life goes round?<\/p>\n
My first answer to these questions is the heart chakra, because it unifies our spirit with our body.\u00a0 Being heart centered teaches us to live from unity with the greater good, bringing us a clear sense of how we can partner with Higher Power to build a better life.\u00a0 I have also used balance points as I teach in Eve\u2019s 3 Most Important Things for Riding the Wave of Change videos.\u00a0 And this has helped to anchor and stabilize me when I center on my open heart, but I kept being drawn to the wheel metaphor and a place deeper in my body as a hub for my life.<\/p>\n
The metaphor that life is like a wheel going round has long been an important one for me. \u00a0Living from the center of the wheel we can be connected to our highs and lows but not be flung up into the heights and then crushed under the lows as happens when we are living outside of ourselves on the rim of the wheel.\u00a0 From the center we can ride the cycles of life with inner calm and self-mastery.\u00a0 It is a safe place to be where we can generate positive energy for ourselves and not allow people or events to drain us.<\/p>\n
Recently, I began to use this metaphor to hold the center of my wheel life within my body and aura. \u00a0To achieve this, I sought the place of perfect balance for my \u201chub\u201d.\u00a0 The place that feels balanced and seems to work very well is immediately in front of my spine and just above my waist, actually sitting on top of it. \u00a0As I center on that point, the hub expands several inches in every direction. \u00a0This center allows me to feel like I am doing Tai Chi with life \u2013 meeting it from a calm, balanced place within the physical world.\u00a0 From there it feels easy to keep an open heart, to avoid getting stuck in my head, and to meet the forces of life and people without losing my ground or energy.<\/p>\n
I feel most relaxed when centered there and can imagine the spokes of my wheel going out in every direction to the \u201crim\u201d of my aura which is about an arm\u2019s length from my body.\u00a0 It helps not to be too literal with our metaphors, since the aura is egg shaped, not round.\u00a0 But there is a feeling as I hold this center that my energy field is stronger all the way to the perimeter because I am centered and grounded.\u00a0 My consciousness can be like the spokes of the wheel, holding a softly focused awareness of everything my aura encompasses, and all that I encounter which requires my attention. \u00a0This is similar to the way we use peripheral vision, but is really a comprehensive sense awareness. \u00a0I find it helpful to gently weight the bottom and the back of my wheel rim– an arm\u2019s length below my feet and behind my back \u2013 to help me get used to holding myself in those more unconscious areas.\u00a0 I just imagine my wheel is a bit heavier in those directions.<\/p>\n
As I go through my day I return regularly to consciousness of my hub and pull myself back to center when I, like most people do, drift forward and up out of my body.\u00a0 This happens when we are drawn into circumstances around until we gain the habit of remaining grounded in our bodies.\u00a0 It is common for people of spiritual, technical or intellectual inclinations or for survivors of trauma to drift out in this way.\u00a0 Learning to live from center is an important muscle to build.<\/p>\n
When we drift forward and out of our body there are some negative implications we may encounter:<\/p>\n
1 \u2013 The back and bottom of our body are then without the protective surround of our energy field.\u00a0 This invites aggressive and energy stealing behavior from those who are inclined to behave in those ways.\u00a0 Many people unconsciously take advantage of these types of opportunities.\u00a0 They will tend to put people like this down, or be disrespectful of their energy and space, or drain their energetic substance.\u00a0 This is an instinctual response.\u00a0 When people are centered, strong in their energy field and taking good care of themselves, they don\u2019t attract these behaviors from others.<\/p>\n
2 \u2013 When we hold unity with Higher Spiritual Self within our bodies through an open heart and being grounded fully, we generate the raw material of life.\u00a0 This spiritual substance is what keeps us healthy and alive.\u00a0 It also is what our Higher Selves work through to co-create with us the life we are intended to fulfill.\u00a0 Without that substance, our human self is on our own, lacking the higher intelligence, unconditional love and greater spiritual muscle our Higher Self brings.\u00a0 We become frustrated and tired.<\/p>\n
3 \u2013 Living in front and up from our bodies, we don\u2019t receive enough earth energy or generate spiritual substance.\u00a0 This can cause weakness, discomfort and disease as our body just wears itself out, trying to function without the necessary energy for life.\u00a0 People will tend to feel tension in neck, shoulders or lower back or may get headaches or other physical problems from being ungrounded.<\/p>\n
Perhaps this post helps you to understand why I am persistent with my students, clients and the readers of this blog in teaching grounding and unity with Higher Self.\u00a0 It is only when we have the substance generated by unity between spirit and earth that we can be fully healthy and successful in our lives.\u00a0 Whenever people are feeling victimized or helpless, I believe being centered and grounded is the lesson they need to learn to overcome those problems so they can succeed and enjoy their lives.\u00a0 This isn\u2019t an easy thing, but it is a very important new muscle for people to build.<\/p>\n
I invite you to explore this wheel meditation for yourself, to see if you can begin to hold your center and how it feels to you.\u00a0 If you like it, I encourage you to use it in addition to the set of tools in Eve\u2019s 3 Most Important Things Videos.\u00a0 If you start with the wheel, I believe you will then find the tools in the videos easier and more effective.\u00a0 If you have tried them before and not felt successful with them, it is likely that you have been in front of your body and up.\u00a0 From that place, you work from your head where spiritual tools don\u2019t succed.\u00a0 The wheel will help you find the center needed to use those tools well.\u00a0 Video 3 brings the entire set together, so once you have watched the first two you can just use #3.\u00a0 See Resources<\/em> below this post for those videos.<\/p>\n When living from the hub of your wheel, periodically check that you are centered, and that your wheel extends back and down from that hub sitting on top of your waist.\u00a0 You can quickly come back into that center when you have drifted out.\u00a0 It is a sweetly simple metaphor for this purpose.<\/p>\n Best wishes for your endeavors to live with an open heart and from the hub of your wheel of life!<\/p>\n Blessings and Love, Eve<\/p>\n P.S.
