Our world is obviously undergoing a huge transformation at this
time. In my work as a healer and trainer of healers many people
ask me to help them understand just what is going on here. Is this
change positive or is this really the end of the world? My response
to this question is yes. The change is positive and this is the
end of the world as we have known it.
The consciousness of humanity and all of planet earth is moving
to a new level. We have exited the world contract that was in place
for the past 2000 years which was known astrologically as the "Piscean
Age". We have recently entered a new 2000 year contract which
is the "Aquarian Age".
The world contract that existed in the
Piscean Age embodied an attitude of self-sacrifice in service of
the collective group. Individuals were concerned with supporting
the societal structures of family, government, church, etc. The
needs of the individual were sublimated to the larger intention.
Individuals were discouraged from independent thought and action
and, overall, people accepted that. In this earlier period, people
also lost the sense of the presence of God/ Goddess within. It was
generally agreed that if we wanted to connect with the higher power
we had to go through the intermediary of the priesthood, or if we
wanted to make a decision, we had to inquire of an authority outside
of our own self.
The Aquarian Age holds a world contract
of individual responsibility and free choice. In this age there
is an awakening to the power within each of us to recreate our world
and the responsibility for being true to our inner sense of what
is right. We no longer believe in the infallibility of our parents,
teachers, religious leaders or governments. We have a sense of individual
choice and responsibility and an awareness that God/Goddess is as
close to us as our own heart.
There is another, deeper level of awakening
going on as well. The old way of viewing the world held the narrow
belief that "Man" had dominion over all the earth. This
attitude gave implicit permission for men to do whatever they wanted
with the earth and its resources including and especially their
own wives and children. In the Aquarian Age we are seeing an increased
consciousness that all of life is precious and to be respected whether
that be women and children or wildlife and all of nature. We are
awakening to the divine presence and intention within all of life.
The shift in consciousness that we are
seeing at this time in the world began in fits and starts as long
ago as the late 1800s. It became extremely evident during the 1960s
and continues to grow. One of the things we see happening at this
time is the conflict between the old status quo and the awakening
consciousness of humanity. Those who have been in control through
the old ways are naturally resistant to letting that go. Another
way of looking at this apparent conflict is to think of it as growing
pains somewhat akin to the relationship of adolescents to their
parents. During adolescence a person's consciousness is growing
into self-awareness. There is a battle within the young person between
the way they have been raised to be and the desire within them to
become a unique and responsible adult and to be true to their self.
There often is also a certain amount of judgment by the elders of
this new and not easily controlled person. They have difficulty
trusting the new emerging consciousness. If we look at the body
of humanity at this time, we see a similar dilemma. We are pulled
by the well established forces of the Piscean Age and the burgeoning
self-awareness of the Aquarian Age. We are struggling to redefine
ourselves.
Much of this pull needs to be resolved
within the individual. There is only so much we can do to directly
influence the world at large. But one of the gifts of the awakening
Aquarian consciousness is that not only is the divine presence existing
within each of us, but the world exists within us too. We are each
a microcosm or miniature of the macrocosm, or whole world. What
changes within us, likewise changes within the world at large because
we are each intimately a part of the world. As each of us takes
responsibility for being true to our own self we will learn to resolve
the conflicts between our old habitual ways of doing things and
our higher vision of how we would like to be. One by one we are
changing the world. The key idea here is resolving conflicts. In
Aquarian consciousness, there is an awareness that everything has
a purpose. Rather than making everything that I don't agree with
into something evil, we need to find a harmony between the different
extremes within us so that all of the power that we have works together
instead of fighting. When enough people learn to resolve the extremes
within ourselves human kind as a whole will step into a totally
new reality. The new world will be born without need for many of
the conflicts and problems we are experiencing at this time.
When we look at the world with the attitude
that everything has a purpose, we begin to see that even the stressful
circumstances which are occurring at this time have the effect of
moving the world in the general direction that we need to go. Like
the conflict between the adolescent and their parents, the strength
that it takes to resist the status quo moves us into our new life
with the clear intent not to give in to the pressures to conform
but to be true to our hearts. The more obviously insane the world
around us seems, the easier it will be to resist the allure of the
status quo and make different choices. I feel confident that we'd
all enjoy a world where change happened easily and sanely. Since
that world isn't here yet, we will do what we need to do to create
it. Meanwhile, try not to be too anxious. Be true to yourself in
all the ways you are able and envision the world you would like
to live in. Hold that vision with all your heart. Imagine it, dream
about it, believe in it. This is how it will come to be. That is
the message that our dear friend and author James Twyman brings
in his new book Emissary of Love.
Another author Doreen Virtue envisions the world as a cell dividing.
That those who desire to stay in the old world will, and those who
believe in and choose a world of harmony, wisdom and love will emerge
into a that new world, like a new cell being born only this time
it will be the beautiful world that we have envisioned in our hearts.
She says that people may not even notice that this change is occurring;
it will seem like such a natural thing.
I was given a very strong message preceded
and followed by the calling of my animal guide last winter. Three
times I received this message and three times a red tailed hawk
circled above me and called out it's squeaky kee-ee-er over and
over again. The message I received in my heart is that humans have
already succeeded in raising our consciousness past the point of
failure, as a race of beings and as part of this world. We have
only to go through the process of becoming that which is already
within us. It takes courage for me to keep my heart open and trust
the process as it unfolds in our world when people can be so hateful
toward each other. But I believe that many of us will live to see
a world far better than the one we have known.
Hold the vision and I'll see you there! |
